The Gazing Ball Volume 2

2

Dear Valued Client,

Welcome to the second edition of The Gazing Ball. Summer is almost over with a few dog days left and it’s time to get ready for fall. Here’s what to expect on your property:

1. We will be starting our aeration and seeding program for fescue lawns mid-September through the first of October. Newly seeded lawns should be watered daily for 15 to 20 days to help germination. After the first three weeks, watering more thoroughly yet infrequently will encourage deep roots to establish a fescue lawn.

We will leave you notes on the watering and the notice of when the service was performed.

2. Starting October 1st, and running the entire month, we will begin the fall seasonal color program. Petunias, begonias, and all the summer flowers will be coming out to make way for pansies and assorted accents. It is important to have this changeover done in time for the new plants to start establishing roots before the cold weather sets in.  Well rooted plants provide lots of color for the holiday seasons and give them a good foundation to push through the winter into next spring.
